About Acapulco
Acapulco is located in the state of Guerrero on the Pacific Coast, south-west of Mexico City. The city of Acapulco is nestled between the spectacular Acapulco Bay to the west and the majestic Sierra Madre mountain range to the east. With a population of about 1.5 million people, Acapulco is a main tourist destination in Mexico attracting over 3.5 million tourists on any given year. The tropical climate provides habitants and tourists alike sunshine for approximately 360 days of the year, making it truly a tropical paradise!
Acapulco is best known for its nearly 20 miles of sandy beaches, each possessing unique characteristics and lined with postcard-perfect palm trees. The main beaches are Playa Condesa, Playa Icacos, Playa Diamante, Playa Revolcadero, Mayan Beach and Playa Gloria. Certain beaches offer sheer tranquility with perfectly calm waters for a relaxing swim while others provide stronger waves sought by the likes of surfers and adventurers of more extreme water sports.
